Among the photos and the fashion articles, there seems to have been a rise in the appearance of the headband. That trend may be reaching the level of a consistent fashion accessory this year. It finds itself coupled, via the ephemeral now-ness that is sometimes near omnipotent in the fashion world, with a rather long-term increase of inclusion of feathers in nearly every piece of clothing that seemed to go wide-spread toward the end of last year and may not narrow through this year. What is the result? What else but celebrities wearing feather headbands.

There have been numerous examples captured in the frames of cameras from far and wide. These have occurred both on and off the runway suggesting that it is a practical sort of fashion and not just the high sort that is dreamy, but usually does not translate into the everyday that most people wear. Another supporting factor is that many of these celebrities that are being seen are actually wearing rather modest pieces. There seem to be more examples of what may be considered subtle and an understated function than that flash and exaggeration to which some pieces lend themselves. There have been some examples of it, though, and these have been almost absurd in their nature.

In 2010 we may expect to see more headbands, in general, and more varieties of feather headbands. More will likely appear on the runway, with many off the runway adorning the heads of the celebrities that so many look to for their more practical fashion guidance, and as a result, on the heads that surround you as you go about your day. There is already something in this hair accessory market for nearly everyone, and with exposure, it is likely that the selections will only increase.
